Ao no Exorcist Blue Blood Prologue
The midnight sky moved along peacefully accompanied by the darkened clouds. The moon shined; around it a thin shroud of iridescent white light. Rin stared at the moon, its face full of craters and peaks. Stars—grand and tiny—twinkled and danced before the people of the world. The breeze caressed his cheek with cold and slithered through each strand of his navy hair. The long tail that protruded from his lower torso wagged side by side, enjoying the quiet and peaceful night.
Yukio must still be on that mission, he thought to himself. It had been three days since Yukio left to handle a case in the capital of Switzerland. Being with
The sun was shining already high in the bright blue sky, promising another wonderful spring day. Yukio sighed, unable to focus on the book that laid in front of him. Since his brother was out with his friends the house was curiously silent, but there was still something in the atmosphere that was preventing him from studying. Another sigh escaped from his lips. Maybe it was too quiet. He was so used to Rin's complaining and snorting that, when his twin wasn't with him, Yukio felt like he was missing something. Moreover, even if he was obviously persuaded that it was a good thing that now Rin had friends and all what the thing implie
Rin sighed, resting his chin on his folded arms, pouting. For once he had done his best to organize everything, and what was the result? All his efforts had been in vain because the person concerned wouldn’t be present. He had tried hard to keep it a secret, inventing thousands excuses, persuading his friends to cover up for him, and he had sacrificed part of the time that he would have to use to buy Christmas gifts. He had even moved forwards with his homework, something he had never thought of doing before. And all that for what? To be told, on the eve of the event, that his twin would be spending all day away from home because he was
“Rin…” the exorcist whispered. Then he looked away and sighed. “I think I owe you some explanation. Listen, Nii-san, I know you must be angry and…” he started to say, but he couldn’t finish the sentence because one moment later the eldest was on him and grabbed him by the shoulders, shaking him so hard that his not yet healed wounds screamed with pain.
“You don’t know anything, damn it!” Rin growled angrily. “You don’t know what I went through in these fucking days, while you were away! I was left alone with a goddamn feeling that tormented me and with worry that was kil
The following day passed like a dream and Rin came to doubt that he had never really woken up. He didn’t want to see anyone or do anything. Despite the Kuro’s urging, he refused to eat, claiming that he was feeling nauseous, and, after having tried to find something that could keep himself distracted, he gave up and curled up in a corner of the bed where he remained motionless for almost all the time, knees brought to his chest and his chin resting on them. His blue eyes were lost in the void in front of him and, as it had happened at the hospital the night before, he was wrapped in utter apathy. The cat demon had tried in every w
The white corridor of the hospital was crowded by the comings and goings of doctors and nurses, who came out and entered the door of the operating room. Now and again someone approached them and whispered words that wanted to sound like encouragements, but the only thing that Rin was able to hear was his own voice mentally screaming all the heaviest and most colourful curses he knew. Seated next to him, Mephisto prattled as usual, although this time he was trying to be serious, but to the boy’s ears those speeches remained always and only useless chatter, not worthy of attention. He had cut all the ties with the outside world half an ho
Blood, blood everywhere . The ground was slippery under his feet and he continued to stumble on the stones. But was it his own crimson liquid that dirtied the ground? Impossible, there was too much, he couldn't have even stood up if he had lost so much blood, he knew it. He was running, fear and anxiety that burdened his chest, but the determination kept them at bay, chaining them in a tight grip. He was running straight toward the source of all that red, straight towards the horror. He would have looked at it again, he had to do it, he had no choice. Fighting, attacking, defending. Resisting. Going back alive. At any cost.
The pools of bloo
After taking what had seemed hours to fall asleep, fatigue and especially the need to disconnect from all the emotions that were stirring inside him had prevailed on Rin, causing him to fall into a deep but troubled sleep. Blurry and scattered images had spread through his mind during the night, without him being able to put them in focus. The light of a fireplace, a moonless night sky, landscapes that he had never seen, unfamiliar voices whose words he couldn't catch. When he had woken up he couldn't remember almost anything of his dreams, but for some reason he was sure that those visions didn't belong to him, although he couldn't explain h
